Criminals are opportunists, so the goal of the NNW Institute is to reduce crime; this is achieved by creating 3 layers of defense:
[1] The first layer being at the STREET LEVEL – NNWI’s street warning signs put all on notice that a Neighborhood Watch Program is in force. Our signs are customized for Montgomery County which send a strong message and can shorten response times.
[2] The second layer being at the HOME LEVEL — NNWI’s wide offering of decals reinforce the fact that a Neighborhood Watch Program is in effect. The decals are placed inside the window as a deterrent. Also please rally your neighbors to install a front yard sign in the mulch bed of their home. There is safety in numbers so when residents living on the same street install a *yard sign an entire block sends a strong message to wannabe criminals that they are being watched.
[3] The third and final defense is at the PARTICIPANT LEVEL — If the PARTICIPANT sees a crime in progress, he or she must act by contacting local enforcement.
You can help right now by helping us to defray the cost of street signs. You can also support the Watch by displaying a window decal or purchasing a yard sign
* Signs do not guarantee safety. They only act as a deterrent.
